Sierra Space

Overview

Sierra Space is an American commercial space company headquartered in Louisville, Colorado, established in 2021 as a spinoff from Sierra Nevada Corporation. It is best known for the Dream Chaser spaceplane, a reusable winged vehicle designed to deliver cargo, and eventually crew, to the International Space Station and future commercial space stations. The company is also a primary partner in Orbital Reef, a planned commercial space station developed with Blue Origin. Sierra Space spans propulsion systems, life support technologies, in-space manufacturing, and orbital infrastructure, positioning itself as one of the leading builders of the emerging commercial space economy.
